Service Academy Nominations

Thank you for contacting me about a nomination to one of our nation’s service academies. Although I am able to make only a few nominations each year, those decisions are among the most important and difficult I make as your United States Senator. Because of the limited number of nominations each Member of Congress has, I encourage you to also contact Senator John Cornyn and your congressman in the U.S. House of Representatives about their nomination process.

My 2009 service academy application will be available here beginning Monday, June 2, 2008. The information packet and online application are only accessible via my website from June 2nd until the application deadline of Wednesday, October 15, 2008.

To apply for one of my service academy nomination’s you must be a legal resident of Texas, and have an official high school transcript complete through at least six semesters. Additionally, you must take the SAT and/or the ACT. If you have not taken either of these tests, yet, or plan to retake these tests, you must take the ACT no later than June 14, 2008, and the SAT no later than June 7, 2008.

Registration Deadlines for June Standardized Tests:
ACT deadline for June 14th Test is May 9, 2008
SAT deadline for June 7th Test is May 6, 2008

*Senator Hutchison’s Test ID codes:
SAT-0261
ACT-7186
